- The Grandmont Rosedale Development Corporation (GRDC) is a non-profit, community based organization dedicated to preserving and revitalizing the Grandmont Rosedale communities of northwest Detroit. We organize a wide range of community improvement programs designed to help our community prosper as a place to live, work and play.
We are a community of nearly 1600 households, located on the northwest side of Detroit. Our neighborhood has received historic designation, in recognition of the fine architectural styles and diversity of our homes. Our neighborhood association, the Rosedale Park Improvement Association (RPIA), was founded in 1929. The benefits that we derive from living in this beautiful neighborhood depend upon a commitment to our community and a respect for the rights of our neighbors.
We’re one of the top neighborhoods in southeast Michigan, known for elegant homes and great neighbors. Our neighborhood offers numerous activities with a focus on family and community involvement. As the only Detroit neighborhood with its own private community house and 4-acre park, our scenic tree-laden neighborhood is a safe place to call home.
This neighborhood of stately homes is represented by the Grandmont #1 Improvement Association (GR1), which organizes street snow removal and advocates for the interests of the community. It shares the recently renovated Rosemont / Acacia Park with the adjacent Rosedale Park neighborhood. GR1 publishes a quarterly newsletter, called the Grandmont #1 Informer, and holds monthly membership meetings on the first Tuesday of each month.
Minock Park is the smallest of the Grandmont Rosedale neighborhoods with 300 households. It is is bordered by Rosedale Park and North Rosedale Park on three sides. Minock Park is represented by the Minock Park Block Association (MBA), which publishes a monthly newsletter called The Park Voice and holds monthly meetings open to all residents. MBA participates in many area wide activities and collaborates closely with the other Grandmont Rosedale neighborhood organizations.
